Most crypto guides in English are written for the United States or the UK. Land in Mexico City, open a bank account in Guadalajara or retire to Mérida, and that advice stops fitting: there’s no ACH, your US card gets declined, and words like SPEI, CLABE, CURP or SAT suddenly matter. Crypto México exists to close that gap, explaining crypto from a Mexican starting point, in Spanish for locals and in English for expats, remote workers and visitors.

What we do

We publish practical guides on buying, selling, storing and reporting crypto in Mexico. We review exchanges and apps the way a resident would use them: how pesos go in, what each trade really costs, which documents are required and how money comes back out to a Mexican account. We also keep city guides, because finding a Bitcoin ATM in Cancún’s hotel zone is a very different exercise from doing it in Puebla.

We write for beginners without boring people who already know the basics, so technical terms are explained the moment they appear and the glossary goes deeper.

An independent resource

Crypto México is an independent information website. Our job is to describe how platforms and payment methods work, with data you can check, and to flag clearly when something couldn’t be confirmed. We don’t give financial, tax or legal advice, we don’t manage anyone’s money, and we will never ask you to send funds or log-in details.

How we work

Every page starts from primary sources: platforms’ official sites, fee schedules and help centres, plus documents from Banco de México, the CNBV, the SAT, CONDUSEF and the Official Gazette (DOF). When a fact only appears in the press or on third-party sites, we say so. The full process is in our methodology.

Crypto moves fast: fees change, features disappear, an exchange stops accepting a payment method. We revisit content regularly, but always confirm the terms on the official site before you trade.
